Busy, busy, BUSY!!

Hey readers! Believe it or not I'm back! I've been busy writing and traveling. I just got back from a book signing in Orlando for my latest book writen with Dave Barry, Bridge to Neverland. Then it was off to Germany for 10 days speaking to kids about Peter and the Starcatchers and the Kingdom Keepers series and did some writing workshops. Immediately after that, I went to Miami for the Miami Book Fair (with Dave) and did a book signing and played with our band The Rockbottom Remainders. Whew! I am now back home for the holidays with my family and to write, write, WRITE! Have a great Thanksgiving everybody!

Hey, everyone. Sorry to have been absent a while. I'm JAMMING on KK book 6 at the moment, having finished book 5 in August. I'll let you in on a secret: book 5 and 6 are basically a Part 1 Part 2 of the cruise line "series." I didn't want to stop, but just power on and keep the story going. Another secret: book 6 will publish EARLY. Book 5: April 2012. Book 6: JANUARY 2013 -- so you don't have to wait so long.

I'm also working with my web developers to put a messaging board RIGHT ON MY SITE so all of us can "chat" back and forth about the books and projects. So... although you haven't seen me on here I've been busy trying to keep everyone reading (and happy).

I'll be back on here SOON, I promise.

Hi everyone: Here's the update! Working like mad. I'm at the VERY end of KK5 and have decided to place KK6 on the cruise line as well. The Overtakers wouldn't let me off the ship! I continue to questions about a possible KK movie; just so you know, it doesn't look good. I must have a mention of it looking good on the website somewhere because I still get emails asking about it. It DOES appear Disney will make a movie set in the Magic Kingdom at night, but I've been told it won't be based on the KK stories or characters. And that's all I know. Sorry.

There's fun news on the Peter and the Starcatchers possible Broadway play and movie, but nothing concrete to share just yet. But things still look up for the boy who can fly!

Dave Barry and I will tour for Bridge To Neverland the 3rd week in August, and again, the 3rd week in September. Updates will be posted on the website (www.ridleypearson.com)

In a week I leave for a quick trip to Hong Kong and Beijing (China) to talk about the Kingdom Keeper series. Exciting!

It's back to work (writing!) for me! I can't wait to see you when out on book tour!!! Please come to our events!!!!! Have a great rest of the summer.

It seems that we had a commenter post some very disrespectful things on a recent blog entry. These posts have been removed and I'm very sorry for the offense this user caused you all. Hey everyone!
some quick answers:

yes: Bridge to Neverland publishes in AUGUST. Dave Barry and I will do two tours, one, the 3rd week of August; the 2nd in California, 3rd week in September. Dates to come to the site soon!

Peter and the Starcatcher (the play) was a huge success; we are crossing our fingers it has more of a life to come; stay tuned!

Working on KK5 (takes place aboard the Dream) -- main reason I don't blog more often. VERY busy.

Dave Barry and I working on a possible animated TV show based on Science Fair; it's a longshot, but why not try?

Kingdom Keepers 4 is doing fantastically well. TELL YOUR FRIENDS about the books: remember, the more books we can sell, the more chance of a movie!

Ridley has teamed up with Disney's Youth Educational Services to produce the Kingdom Keepers Quest in the Magic Kingdom, an educational tour for school groups of five or more. Solving puzzles and testing math and language art skills, students move attraction to attraction supporting the Kingdom Keepers efforts to hold back the Overtakers.

Ask your language arts teacher or class adviser to contact Disney's Youth Education Services for more information. The challenge begins April 2011!

Cruise

So the cruise/research trip was AMAZING. I got to see stuff on the ship that you're NEVER allowed to see, and I hope to include it all in KK5. I take another cruise with Disney through the Panama canal in January (hint, hint) and even another right after that one, trying to get all my facts straight as the KKs embark onto the cruise line.

KK4 is in production. The illustrator is working on covers, and soon I'll have a copyedit of my manuscript to review (trying to get those pesky typos and misspellings out of it).

My summer was crazed -- I published In Harm's Way in my crime series -- I did my KK research, and I'm looking forward to outlining and starting KK5 in the next week or so (they take a LONG time to write!)

I hope everyone's summer has gone well. Don't forget PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS (the stage play) opens in New York City the first week of March. It's not going to run all that long so make sure to GET THERE TO SEE IT!!

I have a sneaking suspicion the Overtakers intercepted the 200 emails to the Beta testers... I never got mine! Standby. We are attempting to trap Maleficent. This will be resolved! Opening event (for Peter and the Sword of Mercy) at Books and Books in Coral Gables was FABULOUS! Hundreds showed up! Thanks to all for attending! Tour starts in NYC this Sunday.

Hope to see MANY of you while on tour. Bring your copies of Kingdom Keepers and Steel Trapp. I'll sign them all!!

Amazing conference call with the creators of the upcoming KK website and on-line game yesterday. VERY creative team with lots of terrific ideas. It's all still in the early phases, so no secrets to reveal, but what they are aiming for sounds fantastic. Should know much more by the end of the month.

There also seems room to make the site itself filled with interesting treats. If we recover the video of Wayne and Finn on video chat, for instance, we can post it there. This is getting good!
